Weaving through the grass, he padded along, head held high. A gentle breeze ruffled his fur, causing him to shudder slightly. The darkened male did not enjoy the cold; not at all, oh how he longed for the warmth of Summer yet again. The sky a faded orange, the sun tucking behind the mountains and rolling green hills.
It was late afternoon and the pack had been rather quiet as of late. However only hours prior, he had ran into a lone wolf at the borders. The wolf was a smokey grey, muscled and clearly hungry; salivating as he charged across the borders into Wacouta territory. Asterion had not held back, not at all.
The large beast took the enemy down, challenging him and sending him cowering back to where he came from. Asterion had left a nasty deep scratch across the other’s flank as a reminder of the consequences of walking aimlessly on Wacouta lands. Asterion himself had managed to get a few scratches on his muzzle but nothing severe enough to bother the apothecaries.
The male slowed as he reached the middle of the beautiful prairie. With the sun setting, it truly did live up to its name. Golden Prairie. The male sat down slowly and let his muscles relax, dropping his shoulders back in comfort. It was nice to relax, even just for a little bit.

ability is what you're capable of doing. motivation determines what you're doing. attitude determines how well you do it
Carinthia released a slow and long sigh; her amber eyes slowly scanning the surroundings. Managing a pack was a lot harder than her predecessors made it seem. However, she was grateful that while it was difficult keeping tabs on various wolves and aspects, it was easier with it being Winter; despite the scarce prey. The other packs were quiet. Maybe too quiet, though.
The faded creamy she-wolf blinked several times, mesmerized by the beauty of the of the sun setting in the distance. Bright orange smudged with deep purples and the contrast of the bright green meadow and tall reaching plants. Pure beauty. The fae felt a gentle smile touch her maw, delighted at the sight. Wacouta was blissful.
Carinthia flicked her pale ears and padded forth as she noticed another; closing in the gap between herself and the figure relaxing in the middle of the prairie. The Alphess had not been sleeping too well of late. Perhaps she ought to try exploring the territory and going for a nice, long walk before bed. Maybe it would help clear her mind...Maybe the simple beauties Wacouta had to offer would lul her into a gentle slumber.
“Hi Asterion,” she barked as she approached. The sentinel had crimson cuts across his muzzle which she noted seemed fresh, “Had troubles today?” She queried as she sat down near the male.

Captured by the scenery unfolding in front of his eyes, he did not notice the Alphess until she spoke. The male pricked his ears up and turned his head slightly, just enough for his eyes to land on the creamy brown leader. She was lithe, small, but rather beautiful despite her almost washed out pelt. Her eyes were deep and filled him with warmth. From what Asterion had seen, Carinthia was a nice leader although she could be strict when needed. Good traits, really. The leader really instilled a tough love type personality in his mind. But, he supposed the more he got to know her, the more he would know.
"Alphess," Asterion replied with a gentle and respectful dip of his darkened tawny head. A shy smile quickly befell across the male's expression at the mention of trouble. "Well, M'Lady.. A little. But it was handled," he said with a satisfied nod. The male knew that for an Alphess, she would likely prefer more knowledge than that. So he shuffled his body so he could face the Queen, setting his sights properly on her. "A loner at the southern border. I do not think he will be back."
Asterion ran a paw across his muzzle, swiping it with his tongue before determinedly brushing it against his scattered cuts. Asterion liked to be well-maintained. Despite his rough role, he always wanted to look his best whenever he could. The male swiped his paw across his face several times before putting it back down. "Do you think the cool weather is keeping the other packs at bay, for now? Because...I must say, I haven't seen much of them..." The male did not know how strategic the Alphess was, but alas, he figured she was the best person to talk to.
